I know you just don't understand why she can't get you one...and I'm going to try to make this as good as possible. It may be hard to hear this but, all of them are expensive, maybe she can't afford one for you and she does'nt want to hurt your feelings because she does'nt have the money. You have to show her how responsable you are, do things without asking her... make her feel like she has the best daughter in the world. (if you do want one- it's definetly got to be a gift for a holiday.) Maybe you can save your own money, you may have to wait until ur 13, most parents do that. Don't bug her about it and put it on ur B-day and Christmas list... well, next X-mas... and just be the best daughter she everr had. Get all the information about the one you want and tell her this:
"you can have a cell with a phone book , and only those #'s can call you, or you can call them.. all other #'s are resticted."
"you can do the pay as a you go, it usually is a lot cheeper if you don't talk that much."
I got one just last Christmas, i know how you feel... trust me, i was DIEING 2 get one- just like you.................
Just be as patient as you can, I know it's hard, but - just do it.

I would start with a prepaid plan. I have Tracfone and found that the service is excellent. They bounce off other providers towers so you are covered pretty much anywhere you go. The latest phone takes pics, web access, and is just plain nice for the price. After you show her that you can stay under your minutes and not run up a huge bill she may let you get a regular plan.

I Think a good way to start is a GO Phone from Cingular, With a GO PHONE Pay as you Go, you can show your mom that you can be responsible, and not put her in danger of getting a BIG Bill. Most parents are concerned about the billing aspect of giving a child a phone. You can tell her that you can pay for your own minutes for your phone by doing chores around the house, and using your allowance to pay for it.
Hope This Helps!)

what carrier? if you want the best coverage go Verizon. Get a phone that you can store numbers to call. The it can be locked so that you can only call those numbers and receive calls from those numbers. you would want to put numbers that are with other Verizon Customers, that way you wouldn't have to worry about going over your limit because your usage would be free. Access would only be $10 a month. this is much cheaper and better than prepay.

i do no longer think of she desires a posh or high priced telephone, and he or she would not want one with information superhighway get entry to at her age. yet i've got self assurance she could desire to have one. She's midsection college elderly. whilst i grow to be that age i grow to be strolling to and from college on a daily basis. a number of situations my acquaintances and that i had emergency situations and because we did no longer have telephones we had to ask strangers for help. One time a pal slipped on ice strolling to college and broke her arm. as quickly as a pal collapsed and had a seizure. I have been given a number of bee stings, and when I had an extremely undesirable bronchial asthma attack. it extremely is a lot safer for somebody her age to have the skill to call for help in a topic like that than to place self assurance in asking strangers.

If your mom has a cell phone plan already, why not add a line for $10 a month (she can take the money out of your allowance), so that way when she needs to call you, the minutes are mobile to mobile and you don't use minutes.
Good Luck!

Ask your mom about the firefly phone, it is a simple but very nice phone for youngsters with five keys where you can just call your parents, and an emergency number. It is a phone your mom can control so she might not mind that one.
