That double standard has existed for centuries. It's not fair, but if you, or your friends, want to avoid it, as in not be labeled a "ho", don't sleep around. Better to be a prude with your convictions and integrity intact than to be ho with a baby and a disease.

Very much so! It is a double standard! And If a guy is only with a girl just to sleep with her then to just break it off that's seems to be totally cool too! Don't understand it, Don't think it is fair unfortunately that is the way it is, I have been out of high school for almost 7 years and that is the way it was back then too, and for generations before us.

Every where you go this is the case, no matter what happens tell your friend to hold her head up high, she didn't do anything wrong, except fall in love with the wrong guy! Tell her to get him back, if she's supposed to be a "ho" now after one time, tell her to stoop to his level once and only once and tell everyone that hes the worst in bed, it lasted only 2 mins. and his member was so small, she thinks that she's still a virgin! tell her also to start making friends with his guy pals. its sure to piss him off, and realize hes an idiot! oh whatever happens, NEVER take him back just say NO!!

If your in high school, it's all part of the drama and gossip that comes with it. My daughter use to come home and tell me the same stories. Now that she's in college it's alot different now.
Your right there has always been 2 sets of rules when it comes to sex. One for men and one for women. When was the last time that you heard someone say..."He's such a whore"?

It is because society and everyone(every boy)in it is stupid. Just like people are still racist, they are still sexist and old fashioned. They think it is cool when guys have sex and brag about it, but they think a girl should save herself for marriage or some **** like that. Who are the guys supposed to have sex with, then?

there is a double standard. shes labeled as a hoe because that's how she presented yourself. if she thinks bad about herself people with think bad about her too. brad is a jerk for dumping her after they had sex but that's how boys are. tell her to keep her legs closed and get a hobby.

It has always been the case. For men that is a notch on their belt, makes them the macho (not) while for the female you will be labeled "loose". Society will never change especially in high school, they thrive on seeing how many "ladies" they can get before they graduate.

It is truly unfair that there are double standards and some people (no matter how old they are) can be very VERY immature. You will learn this throughout life and both you and your friend will have to learn and move on (chalk this one up as a bad learning experience!)......

society made it that way. Girls are supposed to be pure while the boys are supposed to flaunt their sexuality.
To me that is hogwash.
I personally think Men and women should wait. Sex is something very special not to be taken lightly.
