I love Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Charlotte Church (when she was little)

Pavarotti undoubtedly has the most perfect technique of any singer; but I think Maria Callas was the most consummate musician and dramatist- I love that she wasn't afraid to sacrifice the beauty of her voice in the interest of realism (like when she was criticized for her anemic high A at the end of La Traviata and she argued that her character was dying of Tuberculosis so that's what a high A would sound like!)

I also have a sentimental fondness for Bidu Sayao, just because I think she's underrated....

My favorite is Sylvia McNair... but since you aren't asking about real opera singers I don't expect you to know who she is.
