The Nintendo Wii was released in the UK in November 2006... although they are like rocking horse sh**
I ordered one on the 3rd of December 2006 from Curry's and have been told not to expect delivery until at least March this year...

I was at my local Woolworth's store in Preston yesterday and they had loads in with different deals according to how many game titles you want to have with it. I know they were a nightmare over Christmas when it came to the question of supply v demand, but that issue seems to be sorted out now.

It was launched on December 8 2006..... just difficult to get unless you order it... Game has it and then it sells out and so it goes on.... get down to your local Game store and reserve one.... its cool!
