Are we what we feel?
If we feel sad, or happy, or kind, does that make us what we are?
Or are we seperate from our experience to our feelings and emotions?
To me it seems that feelings are the most definitive things of our experiences, but is that all to us or are we more than what we feel?

It's a bit of a hard question to answer really but its been playing in my mind alot!

we are beloved children of God, we rarely feel that way, and even more rarely act that way...but the truth is we are beloved children of God nonetheless.

You are what you think, feel & do. You are a complex assortment of tendencies, behaviours, physical characteristics. You are above all the entity inside that will live on forever even after the body drops away. You are also your choices. You can choose to dwell in negative emotions or to cultivate more positive ones. (This can be very hard for some of us. The negative comes more naturally, the positive is a struggle!) You can also choose to express your emotions openly or to try to stifle them or lie about them or pretend not to feel them, though I think this does more harm than good. Whatever you choose, you are your choices. So yes you are what you feel but it's not as simple as that & that doesn't sum up all that you are. We are multi-dimensional beings & we are works in progress, always growing & changing. We are our strengths & weaknesses. We are our vices & virtues. We are logical yet emotional beings.

"I think, therefore I am" should have added "I feel, therefore I am." Because if you don't feel anything, you're not really alive...

Just my opinion. What do I know?
:)

Everything we experience, feel, do, goes to make the whole person. Our mood swings can't be separate and we are indeed learning from them.

What makes you feel sad one day, may not on another, because you have started learning how to cope; having experienced it.

Also, as humans we have the ability to change.

We can control our feelings.
We are able to think: what's valid, what's not valid.
Which actions are right, which actions are wrong.
We question what we know, and how do we know it.
If we were separate from our emotions we wouldn't have the ability to change how we go about things.

We are growing as a whole person throughout our lives.
We can stop at any point in time, take stock and change direction, our feelings drive us.
I don't think we are separate from our feelings, they make us who we are...

No,we are not what we feel.Emotions are only a part of us.They are a reaction to an outside force. We are all unique,& our spirituality is what defines us.Our being goes deeper than our emotions.Or,if you like, our being goes beyond our emotions. If we are happy or sad,we are still the same people, only with different emotions.Look further, look inward,if you want to find out who you really are.

I don't see how we could be emotions if emotions aren't tangible and we are. But we certainly express these emotions. When you feel happy you glow with happiness and when you're sad, you don't look so glowing. It's a nonverbal communication to others of what your feelings are.

Emotions are amino acid protein peptides released by the hypothalums gland due to the brain's reaction to a stimulus. So, possibly. I know it sure does feel like it sometimes.

we can't be what we feel... one day i feel dead inside, but i am not dead.... the next day i feel so full of life... but i am no more lively than i was the day before... how we feel affects our actions in every way. it affects our day to day personality. but in the end, we are the same person. it takes either a great deal of time or a high-impact experience to truly change who we are on the inside.

I believe that we are what we think. Feelings, like thoughts can change at random. Our experiences and feelings towards them shape who we ultimately become... Yes, we are how we feel at the time that we're feeling it.
