Seriously, this has happened to me a couple of times...

The bathroom at my work has 12 stalls. Why would any one choose the stall right next to someone when there are like 9 other stalls to use! I swear, it's weird. I get it if theres a lot of people, but I am talking about just me in there then someone sitting right next me.

It's just not right. What do you think?

Maybe if they fart, and someone else walks in, they can say "Oh, Mslissy, why did you rip one", I don't really know.

I guess I understand you, if there's that many stalls. I personally don't notice if there's someone next to me in the ladies room.
Although, some people prefer the stalls in the back or front, and if you've chosen the first or last stall, they may take the one next to you because of their preference.

I think most of the answers already given are amusing enough and will suffice. There's nothing you can do about bathroom stalls. That's awful.

At least, on a bus, you can put your bag next to you or take the aisle seat, deliberately leaving the window seat open. Most people will get "down to the wire" so to speak before they bother to question a perfect stranger to either scoot over or let them put their tail in your face to get past you to the window.

Your stall might be their favorite stall to, did ya think of that? Some people don't look under the doors for feet..If you pick the first or last stall and hang and" Out of Order' sign on the door next to you, you might be saved, hey I'm going to try that one! .You must have trouble 'performing' when there's people around to. I feel your pain!

I don't know about the women ethics when it comes to the restroom but as far as guys go there is a list of unwritten laws to the restroom and one of them is just that you go as far away as you can to anyone else so I guess it would be the same in a female restroom. Back off people give us some privacy

That IS annoying. On the same note, I think hostesses who seat two people at tables or booths right next to each other when the restaurant is empty are SO annoying as well.

I hear ya, I think I'v had that experience myself and I thought the same thing. Did you notice how quiet it was also. I'm a runner and when a runner has to go, they go...dosen't matter where. And runners think alike concerning this. I try to have that mind set when your situation happend to me. I get on with my business and forget about the rest of the world. Good Question, thanks for being human about it.

Yeah I agree..it makes me very uncomfortable...same with waiting rooms...when there are a lot of open seats, I hate when someone sits down right next to me..get away from my personal space damnit all!

I've never experienced that, but I know people seem to do that when you're standing in line: you move up or out to give them a hint of standing to frickin' close, and they close in on ya. Just yesterday, this woman with the most horrid, rotten breath did that sh** and I gave up my spot in line and went to another register!

In the bathroom, it could be that they want to blame you for their smell. In other places I think they do it to see if you will move. It annoys the heck out of me too.
