Le Fableux Destin d'Amèlie Poulain.
A bit random, you can find it all split up in about 8 parts on youtube, here is the trailor, good music, but paris isnt really like that, it is overun by immigrants, the movie was critisised for showing it too idealistically with an all white cast. Enjoy!!

Amelie
Cyrano de Bergerac
Un long dimanche de fiançailles - A Very Long Engagement
Ãloge de l'amour - In Praise of Love
Jet Lag
La Pianiste- The Piano Teacher
L'Auberge Espagnole - The Spanish Apartment
Also, I would recommend the film, Dil Se. It's a Hindu film, but it is supposedly the inspiration for the film Moulin Rouge.

Amelie is a good choice but it's clear that everybody has already seen it. I would be weary with other movies by Audrey Tautou.
"The big blue" (aka "Le grand bleu") is a very famous and romantic movie.
I would also recommend "Queen Margot" (aka "La Reine Margot"). A movie with princes and princesses...
