People are always saying things like "people with high self esteem don't care what other people think" and "people with high self esteem project good vibes" and "people with high self esteem go a long way" and "people with high self esteem attract people to them." The list just goes on and on and on.

But have you ever actually met someone who was like this?

I've seen people who tried to look like they didn't care what everyone else thought. They end up looking very insecure and everyone around them starts talking behind their back. In the end they do drugs.

I've seen people who project good vibes. In the end they're too nice, others take advantage of them, and they end up on drugs.

I've seen people who go a long way. They fulfill their dreams, then for a brief time they feel like they're better than everyone else and they're just jerks. Then they get bored and lonely and end up on drugs.

If these things show high self esteem, Kurt Cobain had the highest self esteem of anyone

In my experience the people who claim to have high self esteem at the end of the day turn out to be self centered and arrogant. I don't know why it is like that.

I actually am very confident in myself and have high self-esteem. But the only difference is that I do care what other people have to say. I always have people come up to me and ask how do I do it. I just say that's how much confidence I have in myself. Hope that helps

Maybe it's possible but I can't say for sure, just because someone acts like that are full of self confidence that doesn't mean that when they are alone they are the same way.

Many people in this world wear two faces the one they allow the world to see and the other when they are by themselves.

No there are many other sayings that don't really hold true if you think about em. For example the one that says "don't judge a book by it's cover" yet that is the first thing that people do, judge on appearance. Or "it's what's inside that counts" but how would you ever know that since we don't usually go around trying to get to know people we find ugly.

Actually my self esteem is kinda in between. At times I have a low self esteem and at times it high. Guess it depends on my mood.

Peace:

I think "projecting" a high self-esteem is covering up for a low one. You can tell the people who generally have one because they don't overplay it. They are just confident without going overboard.

OMG, you sound like a self-help writer, but backwards. Wow. They all end up on drugs so I'm better off with my crappy imitation of a self -esteem. But to answer your question, no I don't recall having met someone like that.

I have high self esteem and don't do drugs. But of course I care what others think -- I just don't let that rule my life.
