What I've always heard is that the US was quite willing to let Hitler and the Nazis take over Europe until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
The Muslims are in the process of taking over Europe now, slowly but steadily and most Americans could care less. Read "While Europe Slept" by Bruce Bawer.

actual, no. The 60's have been a large era for activism, yet as quickly as we've been given out of Viet Nam, and Nixon resigned, there have been no real reasons to get smitten by. How do you protest against Ford or Carter? 2 dazzling adult males, somewhat bland, yet no longer protest-inspiring.

Comparing the events that forced us into WWII and the preemptive war against Iraq is like comparing a gushing artery to a mosquito bite. Don't even try to equate the two with your pretzel logic.

Just like nobody wanted to get involved with fighting terrorists until we got attacked. Now everybody wants to leave the war and further be at risk of being attacked again. Doesn't make any sense if you ask me.

You seem to be leaving out the fact of how xenophobic America was at the time (and still is).
We have to understand that we don't live in a vacuum. And every move we make, leaves a huge footprint.
