A common misnomer is that bleach will kill mold. It won't. I say mold because it is also believed that mold and mildew are different, they are not. A mild solution of detergent and water will clean the mold. Use proper personal protection, e.g.: respirator, gloves, etc. when dealing with mold. Also, spray mist the area to reduce the chances of spores from becoming airborne. Feel free to email me with any other questions you may have. Good luck.

Tilex mold and mildew remover works great. I apply it to the crevices of the shower and walk away. It was gone after about three times and I couldn't find anything to get it off. It states on there to spray, wait and wipe, but this didn't work for me, so I left it.

Where is it? Is it in a house (shower, wall)? In my situation, I have an older house (built 1950, no exhaust vent). The shower is closed in. Moisture would accumulate on the ceiling (not tiled). Of course, mold/mildew grew. After having a mold inspector come out to ensure I didn't have a problem. He suggested giving the walls/ceiling in the shower a bleach bath (bleach diluted with water; clean with sponge). It worked. It did leave a stain (very faint). For tile & bathroom surfaces use tilex. (please read what surfaces are safe to use tilex on; usually on the back of the bottle)

If in your clothes (if you left your clothes in the washer too long) and they mildewed, wash again use bleach (color safe bleach for colors). You may have to wash multiple times. If its not out by the 3rd wash, go ahead & throw it away

This works. I put vinegar--full strength--in a spray bottle, and use it for the shower, sinks, etc. Let it sit for a few minutes, and it will come right off.
