The Framers of the Constitution understood “democracy” and “republic” to mean different things. Explain this difference and identify which concept the Framers favored.Please can someone answer this question please

The government was set up to be a representative republic. That's why we have a bicameral legislature and representatives are elected to vote on laws rather than "we the people" voting on them directly. The Founding Fathers--commonly understood to be George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton (among others) were largely involved in both the Declaration of Independence (and subsequent war) and the framing of the US Constitution.

A democracy requires a direct vote from the people while a republic allows representatives to vote for the people. The framers knew that a democracy in such a large country was impossible.

Founding fathers means the prominent politicians/thinkers of the time. Framers means specifically the ones who wrote the constitution.
