my coworker is nuts about 24...got me to watch it last night and i said i thought it was boring at times but really liked the parts Kiefer Sutherland was in.....she said that it was just slow a little last night because the season premiere was so "non-stop" action...I told her I didn't think the show could survive without "jack bauer".....what do u think?

I think that the show is AWESOME!!, can it survive w/out Jack Bauer, maybe, BUT they would need to bring in another Jack Bauer "type" to replace him and they would need to HOPE that they actor they choose to play this new character is a likable as Kiefer Sutherland and personally THAT is the part I think will be the problem, I think that it's not so much about Jack Bauer as it is about Kiefer Sutherland, I think that it is just what he brings to the character of Jack that makes the show.

Also you co-worker is right, last night was just a little slow, but but those of us who have been watching for a while, last night was awesome w/the revelation of Jack's brother being the one behind the plots last season w/President Logan. WOO HOO!!

I LOVE 24 but I agree with you that without Jack Bauer, there is no show. He is the man!!! Last nite did have some slow parts but if you're into the whole show, then you never wanna miss a second so it doesn't really matter.Jack Bauer is so great and I couldn't see anyone but Kiefer Sutherland playing that part. Without one or the other, I don't know if the show could be that good...

Actually, last night was perhaps the MOST EXCITING EPISODE EVER.

But you wouldn't know that, if you hadn't been watching the previous seasons. FYI, Jack's brother (who we obviously didn't know about until last night!) is the guy who has been engineering all of the terrorist attacks in the previous seasons. When they showed his face and had him answering the phone as Jack's brother, my husband and I both pretty much fell off the couch. We had to pause it, and sit there just contemplating what that really meant!

OMG, I can't wait to see what happens next week!!!

yea the show did slow down but the 4 hour premier plus last week were amazing. I believe its the best action/thriller show on television.

It's not the best, but one of them. I personally think "Lost" is the best on TV.
