Interesting question.
They just reopened the case a few days ago. I assume that they found a lead in the case.
And why do you label them as conservatives? Some of the antrax was sent through NJ, which is a liberal state.

When was the last time there was even a scare?
You can't look for something that isn't there and I believe a number of these cases were copycats (people who saw it going on and tried to mimic it).

they backed off the anthrax thing when they realized that the anthrax that got sent to the congressmen was US millitary grade anthrax.
