I have an OMC desktop PC with an Award Modular Bios v4... i need to login to the bios setup so i can reset it since it wasnt boothing up.... but it keeps requesting for a password..... i have cleared the cmos setup.... removed the cmos battery for several hours.... but it still keep requesting for the password.... when it is boothing up, it show a message ... checksum error.. default loaded... pls i need a default password for the bios setup...somebody help me out

have u checked to ss if u can reset it using jumper settings on the mobo

not sure why u need to enter the bios though

Checksum error means that your hard drive is corrupt, or important files were removed. Usually you can clear a BIOS by moving a special pin on the motherboard, powering on the PC, then powering off and moving the pin back. That should clear the password and restore the BIOS to factory default settings.

get ur motherboard manual.
see which 2 pins r for the cmos reset (it is generally pin 1 and 2)
short up those 2 pins for a seconds while ur pc is off.
ur bios will be reseted in seconds.
now it won't prompt u for a password.

this is what happens when non-professionals screw with stuff they haven't a clue about. u best leave it alone.
