yes. but sid is not he reason-he helps but he is not the guy-fleury can carry this team if they get into the playoffs-hot goalies win cups-his supporting cast just needs to get him the chance

Actually the Penguins are 2nd in their divison not 4th or 5th. Personally i don't think the Pens have the depth to win the Cup this season, but I'm willing to bet that not a lot of people didnt think Carolina or Edmonton would make the Finals last year. Once you're in the playoffs anything can happen! It's just getting there thats the hard part.

Well, they won't be contenders for the next few years.
Most players lack the experience. But i bet in 4 years when they mature as hockey players Malkin, Crosby, Staal (win battles on the boards, better vision on the ice etc. ) and Fleury (better rebound control, composure etc.) will be more competitive.
The Penguins will definitely be real fun to watch.

Not quite, but next season could be a possibility if they pick up some defensive help to go along with the almost certain improvement of Crosby, Malkin, and Staal. Gonchar doesn't count since he has almost zero defensive ability...he's just like Brian Leetch, a forward at nature who just happens to play the point.

yes they are, crosby makes everyone btter around him, recci is a solid player and has the playoff experience, the 3rd and 4th lines would be more physical and the defense would be more physical, fleury would be amazing like he always is, and the pens have proved they can beat the best teams in the NHL

No. Even with Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Gonchar, and Fleury. They need players that know how to play defense...not more offense. Need players that can challenge other teams physically. The Pens are one of the top teams that can beat you with speed. Speed is a great asset in today's NHL...but you need to learn how to clear your zone and keep shots down to a minimum within your zone.

Um, no. As much as I like Crosby, he can't singlehandedly make the Penguins not suck, especially on defense. I can see them making the playoffs, barely, but not beating anyone in a 7-game series.

if the supporting cast and more specificly Malkin and Fluery step it up big time the Pens can make a serious run but if its just crosby they will be finishing 9th or 10th in the east till forever

No. They are i belive third or fourth in the atlantic division. I have doubts that Crosby could carry a team like that to the cup. Gretzky couldn't carry that Penguins team to the finals
