Most likely when you signed up for the business card in the fine print you gave them permission to withdraw from your checking account, if you don't make the payment. This is only because it is from the same institution. For another creditor to pull from your bank they would need to take you to court first. I would recommend getting a new bank for your checking account, before you make your next deposit. Also you may want to call the credit card Company, they won't give you the money back, but you may be able to work out some kind of arrangement that will keep them from pursuing you further. Also consider talking to a debt management company, they may be able to give you budgeting and credit advice to help get you back on track with all of your credit cards. I used Take Charge America and they really helped.

Credit cards cannot garnish your wages nor your bank account in America. How can they do it abroad???

All they do is put it on your credit report.

Only money owned to Child support or the government can be garnished from your wages. But I doubt they will follow you overseas.

I often find that parsley makes a rather pleasing garnish. Does that answer your question?

It's likely they wouldn't have access to these accounts, the overseas accounts would have to cooperate with them.
