If a Film won Best Picture.. where does the oscar stattuate goes? To the producers? To the directors? To the film studio as a whole?

Is it possible in the oscars to nominate 2 co directors in 1 film in the best director category?

If a group of people were nominated in a category like Outstanding achievement in writing an original screenplay, Will each of them get an individual oscar stattuates or share at 1 statue?

Do you think Martin scorcese deserve to win the best director category this year after having a 5 time loss of best director awards in the previous years?

Okay, I'll try and answer these as best I know.

When a film wins Best Picture, the Oscar stattuate goes to the producer.

I have no idea if they can nominate two co-directors. I don't think most movies have two directors.

When a group of people win an Oscar, they each get a statue.

I think Martin Scorcese deserves to win Best Director because The Departed was an amazing film...not just because he's lost in the past. Although, I do tend to like people who have never won before...Leonardo DiCaprio being a good example. He was really good in Blood Diamond but I think he deserves to win because he deserved to win an Oscar for Gangs of New York and The Aviator and many others. He's such a great actor...he needs to win sometime!!

1. BP goes to the producers

2. Yes, the award is technically called best direction not best director so all directors for a film (e.g. Little Miss Sunshine) would be nominated

3. They all get their own statuette

4. Philosophically, the person who did the best job of directing for THAT PARTICULAR YEAR should get the award but I do believe it is a shame Scorcese has not won yet.

Best Picture goes to the producer

Even in a team directing situation (the Coen Brothers or the Farrelly Brothers) someone will be the solo director just for that purpose

No one "deserves" an Oscar. Although Martin has been passed over before, he still has to earn it (and, sadly, I doubt it will happen this year as well)

That was just to much to read. but everyone in the film would get an award. Oscars can do whatever they want . Thanks for the two points.
