If I decided to call someone a fat slag, she wouldn't be pleased. But if I called her a black slag I'd be arrested. Surely they are both just as bad ?

They are just as bad. The 'racism' and 'sexism' words were invented by lefties to help them impose their agenda onto the majority population. Nobody can agree on a common meaning for these words, but they serve the purpose of confusing and dividing us. I find it depressing how easily people have been brainwashed into accepting them. As you say, bad manners is bad manners, we don't need to invent divisive language, because it achieves the very opposite of what its adherents claim they are trying to achieve.

I think its to do with history (you know things like slavery, the holocaust etc) Anything touching on Racism goes into this territory - but nothing on a mass scale has ever been done against fat people has it.

I suggest one answer might be this - if the woman is overweight (fat) and puts it about (slag), in most cases, she can change - you would be cruel for calling her - but she can take control
Her race is not something she can change - it is who she is ,was and always will be and she should not be ridiculed for it. That is why it's illegal
