_ Because this site is all about instant gratification - heaven forbid that your question moves down the list before you see it.
_ Because they have not been taught by their parents that good spelling, grammar and punctuation are essential to get a good job, and not come across as unlettered.

Pardon me, but why don't more people do their own grammar check after they type their questions?
Why don't more people use the spell check after they type their questions? For goodness sake, it's right there!

a. some people wouldn't know the correct spelling even when shown
b. most people are just that lazy
c. the idea that speaking in chat room dialogue makes you somehow seem cool
