Is it just me or do other people seem high ceceptible to scary movies???

For instance, just last night I was watching Silent Hill with my sister and cousin. I couldn't sleep - I was too scared! I went to my sister's room to ask if she was scared, too, but she was fast asleep with the light off!
The next morning when my cousin asked me why I was so tired I told her I was too freaked out from the movie. She rolled her eyes and said how could I get so scared? Why does everyone else seem so unmoved by these pyschological death machines??
I'm probably overreacting but is there anyone else with friends like that who just never seem scared no matter how scared you are by a scary movie?
Please tell me I'm not insane!!!
And does anyone else even get scared of previews, too? For instance I just watched a preview for The Messengers and I got scared out of my mind because my little cousin whose only three sometimes just stops and stares at something.
Please tell me I'm not paranoid!!!!!!!

I do the same thing--when they show previews for scary movies I make my husband change the channel so I don't get scared.

If my husband has to get up during a scary movie I make him turn on all the lights and leave the door open. And I pester him to stay awake until I fall asleep so I won't be the only one awake...so you're not alone!!

Maybe you're a little paranoid, I was that way when I saw Final Destination 3. I was totally freaked and couldn't sleep. lol BUT, everyone is scared to their own extent. Some people enjoy watching scary movies because it gives them thrills. Some don't want to watch just because it's too suspenseful and it gets them really paranoid and even depressed. It's just because other people enjoy seeing those things, like blood and killing. I didn't really get scared from Silent Hill the movie. The games are the TRUE horrifying things. XD To me, the Silent Hill movie avoided that part of feeling scared, what the Silent Hill games are known for. Though, I can understand why you were scared afterwards. The whole thing about Dark Alessa killing off all those people in those cruel ways. Though they deserved it for burning Alessa, who was really innocent.

I really love scary movies (even if some of them scare me crapless), and my brother can't stand them, neither can my mother. I guess it's just because people have different sinsibility rates. Just like people who are paranoid against some things and just won't do anything related to that. Just like people are afraid of heights, some people think that it's really fun to jump off high buildings. Everyone has this problem some way or another. So, it's not just you.
Hope this helps. :)

I get scared a lot by scary movies. One night I was at my friend's house and we watched part of House of Wax and we never finished the movie I she made me sleep downstairs and I was so scared I didn't even move on the couch because I kept looking all over the room the whole night so I got like 3 hours of sleep. Most people who aren't bothered of scary movies because they know its just a movie and its all fake.

Everyone has different scare levels... If you think Silent Hill the movie is scary, you should play the game! I wasn't scared by the movie, but the game is pretty creepy the first time you play it.

You aren't paranoid...you are obviously just easily frightened. I have lots of girl friends who are TERRIFIED after watching scary movies, and others of them that are not affected at all. Personally, I get really into the movies while I'm watching, but I rarely carry it over after the film has ended. It just depends on the person!

Believe it or not, some people biologically have a lower threshold to get their "adrenaline pumping" so to speak, than others do. You are not insane, it's just that you have a quicker response to those things than other people do. There are people at the other end of the scale that any form of violent/disgusting/scary things (and I include those things that happen in real life!) do little or nothing to get a response from them. These people are usually sociopaths/criminals (for those who took the wrong path!) or they are people like snipers or bomb squad people who don't get shaken up in situations where most of us would be peeing our pants!!!

You are not paranoid, just sensitive. I have a 26 year old brother who refuses to watch things like that because it is not appealing to him. Movies are just a form of entertainment, and horror pics are not your cup of tea. Just like amusement park rides scare people, as others love them.

I didnt like the movie mostly because I have kids that age and it bothered me thinking it was them, but I mostly love the makeup. the only one that freaked me out was "the grudge" that lady was every where in my house... in the dark, in the closet.....

My husband gets really scared because his emagination is so strong, he leaves the room embarrassed if someone is going to get caught and he cries a lot in movies. It is so real to him.

You are not paranoid, but do not look behind you right now. There is a man with a knife. AGH
