I've never waxed 'down there' (I usually use other methods...) but I'm thinking of going to get a bikini wax at the salon. Exactly how much does it hurt?? And I'm quite young and new to this so I'm not really sure what I should tell them to do - or do they know anyway? Do most girls get rid of everything or what and is it very embarassing? Can I have serious answers please because I'm nervous about it

You know what it feels like when a bandaid is ripped off where you have hair=amount of pain for bikinin wax
They will know exactly what to do all you have to do is tell them whether you want a baldy or leave a strip. You will naturally be nervous as its your first time. Im sure the esthetician will make you feel very comfortable and they should be helpful through this process.
If you dont like your esthetician, dont continue going look for others. Its just like the salon, some stylists are better than others.

how much does it hurt? it stings for a moment. and, unless you're getting a "brazilian bikini wax" there will be no need to determine whether to leave a "landing strip" or "go baldie". when you get a conventional bikini wax, they only do where you get a crease when you sit down and your thigh folds up toward your stomach (which is about the location of the leg-hole in your panties)...
if you're going to do it, get a full-leg and bikini wax, they will do everything from your bikini line to your toes. should be approx
$80-100...

it can be painful, but is quick- just like eyebrow waxing. these people who wax bodies are professionals. they've seen almost every type of body and do this all day long. basically, they arent worried abuot how you look... youare just a dollar sign to them, so dont be worried about what they are thinking. you may feel a little uncomfortable, but just relax. just a heads up: if you're getting a brazilian, it also includes waxing your anus and in between the butt cheeks.

Check with a dermatologist before you start waxing! Some people have the wrong type of hair/skin combination for waxing, like me, I never should have done it. Now my hair doesn't grow out properly and I get ingrown hairs (small bumps under my skin).
