I agree. I think it needs to be a combination of parents and schools teaching our children about sex. I know this is probably controversial, but I think the younger you start to teach them, the better prepared they are to handle situations when they are older.

it would be great that parents would be interest in their kids,
but in today's society their is no time. sadly today parents do not have the interest in doing it. so schools are the only place for this topic. some people do not agree. those are the ones that should do something about it instead of criticizing. kids also sometimes do not want to talk to the parent. their is were a school counselor comes in to help. their are some parents that do do their job great but the big part of this country is in bad shape. if this were not true then. their would not be so many teen pregnancy, rape
drugs, runaways and abuse. their has to be a stop and only
some one has to make a stand all together. those who just criticize. that is just my opinion

Teens are going to do what they want to do. I have education my daughter on having sex scenes she was 7. I had her at 16, and didn't want her to make the same mistakes. But I found out that she had sex last year with a boy. She was 15. I took her to get the pill. Now all I can do is hope and pray that she won't make any mistakes.

I THINK WE NEED MORE PARENTS EDUCATING THERE KIDS ABOUT THE SUBJECT. NOT THE SCHOOL SYSTEM. THIS IS A PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO DO WHEN YOUR CHILDREN REACH THE APPROPRIATE AGE. I KNOW A LOT OF PARENTS WHO ARE NERVOUS ABOUT THE SUBJECT AND THINK IT IS DIRTY AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE SO THEY DO NOT SPEAK WITH THERE CHILDREN AND THIS LEADS TO SEX AND UNWANTED PREGNANCY BECAUSE THE TEENS ARE SCARED TO GO TO THE PARENTS. I HAD SO MANY FRIENDS IN JR. HIGH & HIGH SCHOOL LIKE THIS.
SO MY ANSWER IS NO THE SCHOOLS SHOULD NOT GET MORE INVOLED IN THIS THE PARENTS SHOULD!!
I AGREE WITH FLO!

when i was in 6th grade we had sex ed, but it just taught us how to say no. i do think that schools should have more classes, but i also think that parents should talk to their kids about sex and not just leave it up to the schools.

Absolutely agree with you. Sex education and Aids education. It's incredible how many people still believe that only gay men can get aids, it's shockingly ridiculous.

It's not up to the schools to educate our kids about sex. It's up to us as parents. We need to talk to them more and monitor them more.

what has sec ed done so far? Has the number of pregnant teen, std's ect, lowered since they started teaching it in schools, doubt it. The parents need to talk to their kids, keep the schools out of it.

what i can't believe is the number on questions regarding periods also, not just sex....it's like girls don't know what's going on with their own bodies, they have absolutely no awareness
