You must be what the Casting Director wants for the role.

What I like to see are bold choices. Not crazy stuff -- don't wave your arms and yell and use crazy voices -- but have a definite take on the character and sell it. BUT, also be prepared to make any changes the director or casting person might ask for. Don't be so locked into one interpreatation that you can't make any changes.

And if you don't make the cut, don't be discouraged. It might be due to your not being the right height or not matching up well with another actor. If you do your best and give it your all, that's all they and you can ask for.

Remember, no one wants you to be bad at an audition. Everyone wants too many good choices, and good actors are a pleasure to see. Relax, have fun, and break a leg.

first of all, charm the ppl who are auditioning you with a big smile, a cheery and a handshake (just to butter them up). If you know your script before you go for the audition, lie down for a few minutes (any thing over 15 mins would be great) and visulise the setting of this scene and what type of ppl would be around ,if any, and start to put yourself in the characters shoes imagining what feelings he/she would be experienceing, and the general vibe they give off. When its time to go for your audition, you ARE the character. Keep telling yourself that and you will honestly nail the audition! remember- its not acting if you dont BE the character and live a little while in his/her shoes! hope this helps!!! ND GOOD LUCK!!

Smile, say hello and NEVER ask how you did. they have 5 minutes to see you and what kind of person you are. also, make sure you have everything you need, resume, music (if it's a musical), headshot, etc.
