Do you do anything to "get back at" your boss for being insensitive or for taking you for granted. When mine gets especially aggravating, I go take a walk at the park near the office . One of my co-workers has a small liquor cabinet hidden on the premises and she makes mini martinis for everyone. Another co-worker sneaks off to the storage room and gives herself manicures. Another takes the afternoon off, says she's going to "work at home", but she actually goes to the movies.

I work out on the treadmill when I get home. I think you make the best choice: go for a walk. It refreshes you and blows off steam.

I wouldn't drink at work if I were mad because it would just make me cranky/mouthy and then REALLY would have problems with the boss.

It is sort of amusing the way you all cope with your job, but it sounds like your boss needs to go to some workshops on how to communicate & work better with staff.

Well if you want to stay out of trouble you better just go to the movies.
In Japan they have a room in the corner with a punching sand bag and it has a picture of the boss. It works great. It gets all the anger and frustration out. Very effective!
If you want to do something like that I suggest you do it in very private way. If you get caught they will think you went nuts! I take it out on a pillow or a stump. Do not use your hands on the stump. a 2" hose by 24" would do the trick for you.
Remember to keep all others out.

The people who succeed in career depends on how he/she reacts to the mistakes. When one makes a mistake, one should learn from it and make correction not to make the same mistake again. Generally, people don't like criticism and tends to blame the person(s) who is criticizing or blame others for their own mistake. These people won't go far in their career because there is no room and attitude for improvement. You tell her that you will be very vigilant never to make the same mistake again, and you are willing to learn and improve on your performance of your job. Try to get along with your boss because she is the one who will put you in for raises and promotion. I'm not saying to butter her up. Be sincere and try to be a good employee by showing up for work on time and show willingness to work hard when needed and cooperate with the group of people you work with. Remember, if your boss and your colleagues like you, you will advance far within the company even if you are just an average worker. Never give up on high paying job. Look at all the people who are laid off for no fault of their own but the terrible economy. Find good things about the job and the people to make your daily life happier. It's better than dwelling on negativity.
