If yes, did you ever go barefoot and was it voluntary or forced?

We had PE in grade school & high school. Both were barefoot-only indoors; at high school we also went outside in summer, we had a large grassy field, and there it was optional. But indoors no shoes were allowed ever; even if we'd forgotten something inside we weren't allowed in, we either had to ask someone from the next class or take off our shoes again, even if it was three steps from the door. I wasn't a barefooter then but I would usually go barefoot outdoors too, it was just nicer.
Barefoot PE is the norm here in the Netherlands, I've personally never been in a school that allowed shoes in the gym. And guess what, kids don't have much athlete's foot or other fungus!

did have gym class but nvr barefoot b4 if i am force too then ask the coach to do it first then i will follow

When I went to high school you had to take PE for all four years. We did go barefoot for gymnastics, and swimming, too, but that's all.

I only went barefoot if I was wearing sandals, they never let us wear sandals in gym... It's tennis shoes of nothing!! You kids know the rule!

Yes, yes and we were forced. :(
The floor was always dirty and dusty and the gym mats were always cold underfoot.
The hall was also used for lunch too, so we had to avoid the odd baked bean - not very pleasant.

Yes, and in my day there was a boys only class and girls only class. Also you had to change into gym cloths. None of this sissy stuff they have now.

yeah. it was voluntary because my friends and i always wore flip flops...and we just liked to be barefoot!

i was never asked to go bare foot. im pretty sure they cant MAKE you go barefoot (maybe in just socks tho) but because of foot fungus and all that gross stuff i wouldnt think they could MAKE you... and if they try to... say no if u feel strongly enough about im sure u will get sent to the principal or whoever.... but she/he will probably understand
