I'm a man.
When you are more open socially, emotionally or physically with someone or something other than your spouse.
It could be porn, romance novels, your girlfriends, an internet forum or an emotional or physical fling or affair.
They are all forms of adultery and/or giving your very best to another BEFORE your spouse.
Most vows indicate forsaking all others.
So asking advice of your parents BEFORE your spouse is a form of unfaithfulness or cheating.
Agreeing with your spouse to consult your parents because they are more experience is NOT cheating.
See the difference?

I completely agree with the first poster.
So many people define cheating wrongly as having sex with someone other than your spouse.
However, real cheating can be anything from having drinks with someone, to a kiss on the cheek, to entertaining fantasies about another person, to all-out sex, to anything you can imagine.
You cannot get away with it by telling yourself, "Well, I haven't actually cheated yet, cause i haven't had sex yet".
If you are doing anything that you would not want your spouse to know about -- You. Are. Cheating.

Female- Everything except looking. All men will do that no matter how long they have mean married or with someone or how much they love him. Nothing makes it right. If you want to sleep with someone else give the person who you are with the respect of leaving first.

I think it's a personal thing myself. But for me...
Anything you're doing with another person that you wouldn't do right in front of your spouse, or that you feel you have to hide, is "cheating" in some fashion.

Male:
Cheating is putting your wee wee where is should not be with another woman. This could include many places, not just intercourse. See Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky for an example.
The not cheating list is probably longer.....

Anything involving flirting, physical proximity, intimacy, lies needed to cover up actions, secret communications of any kind, sex, betrayal of trust, or broken vows - and if you are "not sure" then would you do it/say it with your spouse standing right next to the other person.

Cheating is when you break the agreed upon rules set in place between you and your spouse. It can involve sex or exclude it.... It's between the partners.
