My uncle retired from NYC after 30 years, took the pension and went to work for the feds. He said since the pension was half of his salary he was working for half salary working for the city. He retired from that and now had two pensions and did home inspections on his own. He was a civil engineer.
I retired from a government job and went to work in the private sector 9 years ago. It's nice to have a salary and a pension

Sounds like you should just retire. Have you thought of doing a home business. My friend Patricia Tenegal has a website www.fireyourownboss.com and I believe that you might have some luck with it.
