computer is ur pc machine
and peripharels are devices u attach to it like printer, scanner, cd/dvd writer etc

The computer is your tower, desktop or notebook, which contains your harddrive, cd/dvd rom(s) video and audio hookups, modem, networking hookup, printer and usb hookups etc.
The peripherals are mouse, keyboard (most common), and occasionally video camera and printer(s). A monitor is sometimes considered a peripheral although most times not.
