In most cases tinnitus is relatively minor. That is not to say that it is not also extremely irritating and annoying as well. There are many differences of opinion when it comes to how to cure tinnitus. While many believe there is no cure others believe that there are various things that a person can do to stop this problem. And in general definition wouldn't that constitute as a cure?
Some people often times suffer from this condition and do not even know it. They may get the occasional ringing in the ears that doesn't seem to go away. But in the end, it does go away and they forget about it. If these instances where it happens and goes away start to get more frequent, you should pay careful attention as it can turn very serious, very fast!
There are varying degrees of tinnitus. In some cases it may be a simple ringing of the ears. In other more extreme cases however this ringing can become very loud blocking out all other sound. When this happens it can become quite troubling for the person experiencing it because they hear little else.

Herbal treatments - These treatments are developed from herbs.. For thousands of years, in ancient India, China and in other countries, herbal remedies have cured a lot of people from all kinds of diseases.
We can't really ignore that. Herbal remedies also usually do not cause any side effects.
Even modern medicine is now agreeing that several herbs have curative values and have a large role to play.
The ginkgo biloba herb can be extremely effective in treating tinnitus.
It can enhance blood circulation and treat vertigo - both these conditions have been linked to tinnitus.
Ginkgo biloba can also calm your senses and ease the symptoms. On the negative side however,
herbal remedies might not be as effective for everyone.
Essential oils - Sometimes essential oils too work very well.
Some people have got very good results by applying one kind of oil.
And for others, a blend of various oils has worked. Both these approaches can work.
Oils such as Cypress, Lavender and Juniper have been tried by many tinnitus sufferers, and they report positive results.
Essential oils work best when they are applied through vaporization, massage, inhalation, compression and bathing.
Optimizing Your Diet - The food you eat is crucial to your health. When we choose the right foods, we stay healthy,
and when we opt for all that junk stuff, we fall ill.

So what help is there? Personally I don't believe in herbal remedies or medications that claim to specifically treat
tinnitus. What is true is that they can help you with an underlying problem such as depression, and that the benefits of
feeling better due to the medication taking effect can greatly reduce tinnitus. The reason for this is simple: tinnitus'
worst enemy is stress. The more stressed you are the louder you perceive your tinnitus to be. If you are depressed you will
naturally feel more stressed about life in general than you would if you weren't depressed.
Your general wellbeing also affects tinnitus. The healthier you are the less strain your body has to deal with. Changing to
a healthier diet, stopping smoking, the less caffeine you intake and learning to relax on a regular basis all help you
reduce and take control of tinnitus. If you can find ten minutes every day, preferably at the same time each day, and just
concentrate on relaxing you will soon notice that your tinnitus is substantially reduced around about the time you are
relaxing and for quite some time after. Try and add more ten-minute pockets of relaxation each day if you have the time.

Ginkgo biloba EXTRACT (whether in pill or liquid) has proven itself effective in clinical studies - especially for the elderly. Ginkoba (one brand of extract) has some of those studies published on the web: http://www.ginkoba.com/_quality/clinical_gink.html
Personal experience? I gave my 80-year-old mother a supplement called Remember Now, by Herbs, Etc., that contains Ginkgo. After about 6 weeks, she found her blood pressure had gone down from 145/95 to 135/80 and stayed that while she took the supplement. Her doctor was pretty impressed. Here's a link to that product: http://www.herbsetc.com/Shopping/r/remember_now.htm
I take a formula with Ginkgo, Gotu kola & Ginseng, made by NOW Foods. I find it helps with recall, but only lasts a few hours.

Yes
Gonko Biloba improves micro-circulation, so yes, it can support healthy brain functioning, healthy anything functioning. That's one reasons that it's an excellent choice as a supportive med in diabetes.
However, and it's a huge however, no one should take Ginko Biloba if they are taking any type of anti-coagulant (blood thinner), such as Warfarin, Coumadin and Heparin. In combination with any of these Ginko Biloboa can cause cerebro-vascular bleeds.

Isn't Ginkgo Biloba a Hobbit or something? I don't think that Hobbits help your brain function. In fact, I think they are fictional beings. But whatever works.

The efficacious effects of any herb depend on your particular enzyme haplotype and how well it will interact with the active ingredients from ginkgo biloba. However, in comparison to normal pharmaceuticals, yes, gb works just as well for just as many people in terms of supporting healthy synapse as any synthetic drug.

It is almost impossible to live with tinnitus but you don't have to. If you are hearing the noises, whether all the time or intermittently, you must seek
treatment immediately. But sadly, conventional treatments only treat the symptoms of tinnitus and may provide temporary relief at best. Sure enough, the
sounds are going to come back.
The only way you could ever get rid of your tinnitus for good is by following the holistic approach to healing. By using a multidimensional treatment for
tinnitus, we are tackling all tinnitus causative factors and eliminating these triggering elements from the root. This is the only path for permanent freedom
from tinnitus.

My experience is yes! a resounding yes in fact! unlike caffeine, it's energy without nervousness. However, many varieties on the market are bogus. I have had the most success with the "Energy Now" blend that they sell at convenience stores. I do think it's somewhat addictive though, just like caffeine is.
