Are you looking for a dollar value? There is no dollar value. A number of people chipped in for my wedding, and we had a really nice one for under 5k, with only a fraction of that picked up by us.
My Mom made the dress, her grandmother bought the cake, my parents and her mother picked up a large chunk of the wedding costs, which were all done by a local hall. My parents picked up most of the tab for our cruise to the Bahamas for our honeymoon.
