I have to write a 5 paragraph essay for my AP English class about why or how fast food is bad for you. My parents are big health nuts and have never allowed my brothers and I to eat fast food, I know most fast food places do have a lot of grease in their foods but that's basically all I know. Please help!?

Well to start off, the food is totally chemically altered. You think what you're eating is actually a fry? Since the processing of the fries takes away a lot of flavor, it has a chemical flavor added to make it taste like a fry. See link:

Why McDonald's Fries Taste So Good

Also, Dept. of Agriculture did a study on ground beef, found 78% of beef samples from across the world contained microbes that are spread...get this....primarily through FECAL MATTER!!! See below:

Also, E.coli has been associated with the consuption of ground beef

Here's more random facts about whats wrong with McDonalds:

What's wrong with McDonald's?

Oh and their chicken strips that they promote as "healthy" hold over 1200 calories for 10 pieces. That's more than half the calories a normal person should consume in a WHOLE DAY!!!

Lets not mention that due to the high demand in beef, potatoes, etc. the big companies are running the small farms to the ground. One day to become a monopoly, and able to control everything we eat

I could go on and on and give you website after website, since this is one of the things I know a little about. I threw up on McDonalds once, ever since then my health has been #1.

It isn't always the grease that is the problem. Salt, fat and calories can cause their share of problems too. I recently looked up the nutritional information about Chipotle's burritos and was amazed at the calorie count, salt and fat included in each meal. If you have cheese and sour cream, the calorie count is over 1000! That's half a day's calories in one meal. So just because it isn't deep fried, doesn't mean is healthy. Check websites to find out the nutritional value of different fast food options...

The grease contains trans fats - which have been noted to really cause a plethora of health probems,

and the down fall - man do they taste GOOD!

secondly, fast food contains triple the calories needed for a decent meal -

third - usually do not get a 'balance' of foods - like salads, veggies etc -

fourth - I usually eat fruits away from a meal, because eating deserts, which digest very quickly, after a heavy meal of protein (steak), tend to sit in the stomach and ferment - which is bad

now I'm hungry !

How about brainstorm the main portions and "expand" on them. For example, greasiness is a fine start for one paragraph. Also, One paragraph can be about how corrupt the chair folks are in the fast food places. Also, you can write about how many calories they're are in the food. Also, you can write on how trifulling the employees can be. The possibilities are endless.

Food is just food. There is nothing like Good or Bad food.It is only eating habits which are good or bad.
For example take so called Fast food like burgers or pizzas. It is a fashion to label them as harmfull.Well they may be harmfull if you eat them too much, but in such case excess of any food is bad.It is not fault of food. The fault lies in your way of eating and lifestyle. If you tell a person doing physical mining job to keep away from fats it will be a stupid advise as he needs lot of energy.Similarly if you tell a sedentary housewife that fats are harmless and she can eat as much as she like, it will be equally stupid advise. But this is not fault of Fat.It is fault of non suitable kind of food item.
This is just an example, and same is true for all kind of foods.

For starters fast food is very fattening which is a health problem all in itself. Also, it is greasy, salty, and high in cholestorol. It is known to clog your arteries and cause many other bodily problems. However, this is only if you eat it profusely without moderation. Too much of anything can be bad for you, especially fast food.

Your body doesn't need the extra fat the food has so it stores it on your body-like your thighs, hips, stomach, arms, etc. You get slower, Your veins get clogged if you go to far and you have a heart attack. As my gramma said "A moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips!!"anyways its greasy and bad for you. thats y I dont really like some restraunts cause they like leave alot pf the grease on there. Hope this helps!:D

Calories, fat, sodium....try going to a fast food website and checking out the nutritional information on their food. It is insane how many calories, etc. one item has. You could possibly do a comparison of the nutritional content on fast food to the nutritional content on something that you regularly eat.

Main things you want to talk about are saturated fats, trans fats, and cholesterol in the food.

They put sugar in everything-including the buns and fries, not to mention that the food is way over-processed.
