it might be considered misconduct but not enough to be sacked. possibly a verbal warning at worst

I don't think you will be sacked for it but, I would not be surprised if you get a firm warning not to be in that position again.

If you have an upset with management you need to discuss it with them and find ways to work together better.

If the manager is a real problem for you, you need to go to the boss that is higher then he/she is.

If the manger is the boss I would suggest you get a new job if you cannot find a workable solution.

Swearing in the workforce is just not acceptable or needed. If this is a repeated performance from you, I would suspect it could be a sackable offense.

Not at all.

But the guy who heard you now has got 'something over you" and he might get back at you in other ways.

This sort of thing happens all the time. If they don't mention it verbally, don't lose any sleep over it.

You should never describe your manager in unflattering terms when in the workplace. The walls have ears.

...absolutely. then again it depends on the field of work, are you a professional athlete?
It also depends on the manager, is he going to discuss what he heard? That's his choice.
If in fact, this has occured, and you are sacked, leave quietly.
Take responsibility for your actions and move on. There is life after being sacked....really.

I've worked for companies where one could be sacked for profanity. Usually, people with that problem had other problems for which they were ultimately sacked instead (safety, theft, etc.).
