What exactly does a career in journalism consist of?Are there good job opportunities in his field? please help!!! Wahat else can i do with a degree in jornalism and is there another degree (aside from journalis) that can also be used for journalism?

It takes a special kind of person to be in journalism. For starters, you have to be fairly thin skinned - in order to do your job, you are going to disappoint and anger a lot of people, and you will have to deal with these people time and time again, especially if you are a reporter with a beat.

It's also difficult to be in the middle of highly politicized situations and to maintain an unbiased position in writing.

The hours are frequently long and difficult. While there may be days with little going on, on other days you may be up early at a major accident and out late as a public meeting goes into lengthy executive session with the hopes of outlasting press time.

I completed my journalism degree and spent 8 years in the newsroom, 4 of those as a full-time reporter. It's not for me, but I definitely have an appreciation for those who can do it.
