It depends on the person. If the person's main goal is to be in the spotlight, such as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and such then no. Their goal is reached.

Yet, if someone did something wrong, screwed up, and other people caught wind of it, then no. It's the phrase Reputation and Fine China are similar in the fact they are easily cracked and never the same again.

Only if you don't know what you are doing or have a pathetic media agent working for you.

ANY publicity is GOOD publicity...it's all in the spin.

If you are getting bad publicity, well, then, you just don't know how to turn that frown upside down.
Its like the saying: when life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

When publicity comes knocking on your door, THAT is an opportunity to open up and embrace it.

If you don't know how to manipulate the bad into good, hire a good PR person to do it for you...it's worth the money and your reputation.

The bottom line is that a good publicity is what at the end increases sales…so a bad publicity is which doesn’t reach consumers and potential consumers towards buying a product...
