I great way to meet interesting, mature people who are not out just to hook up is to become involved in different social groups. For example, volunteer for your local GLBT center. That way, you'd be able to meet other people who are civic-minded and mature. You could also sign up for community education classes, depending on your interests (like different art classes, etc.). Your local GLBT center may also even have resources or information regarding GLBT-friendly community education groups, like book clubs for gay women, etc. I hope this helps!! Good luck in your search!

Try volunteering in :"The" community? Working within the community of like minded/hearted people you'll find a lot more with similar interests and goals.
You could voluteer for a LGBT center or organization, or even a group that's purpose is something you feel very strongly about.

I'd suggest focusing on the activities you love doing, so you'll find someone you have things in common with. The site below isn't a dating site, just a way to connect with people in your local area that like to do the things you do. If your city is large enough, the activities can be quite varied! It's helped me meet quite a few close friends recently.
Good luck! And *hugs* cuz I know how you feel. I'm focusing on just friendships now, but who knows, maybe one day. *smile*

Yes, it does get a bit tedious. But they tell I would find someone, someday (probably on my deathbed). All I can say is to live your life the way you would without the distraction of trying to find that special someone to spend your life with.
You still have your friends.

All of the above - especially what sparky, tegarst, jenfluer, and baby boy said.
Lots of ways to be sociable without clubbing.
Sorry, but there is no quick solution. I wish there was!
Good luck!
Kisses

Yeah, I am, except I'm not gay.
My New Year resolution is to get out more in DAYTIME social situations.
Why don't you join a sporting club, gym, yoga class, book club etc?

use the time you have to learn to love yourself...treat yourself like you want someone to treat you....this will make you more confidant and attract many more people towards you.
