I have a PS2 and a USB mouse and neither works properly. The connection is ok and the pad is ok. What could it be? Thanks!

The signal from the PS2 and the USB mouse may be interfering with eachother causing the loss of signal. Ever since the PS2 introduced wireless controls they need to send out infra-red detection. However, they lacked the foresight to create it on a different frequency than a USB mouse. **sigh** Unfortunately the only way to fix this is to move the PS2 at least 300 feet away from the computer

A number of factors can contribute to mistracking of a computer mouse. If it is a wireless mouse, the battery level must be low - replace the battery. If it is a traditional mouse with a rubber ball, open the mouse and clean with rubbing alcohol and cotton buds. Oil and lint around the desk can dislodge into the mouse and cause mistracking.

U should first shut down the computer still having the mouse in and once its shutdown remove the mouse wait for 20 min. Then plug the mouse back in, still having the com shut down, switch the comp once the mouse is in.
