My girlfriend suspects that she might be pregnant her period is a day late, and I am very nervous. She has been on the pill but we do not use a condom. I have been a nervous wreck all day trying to figure out what to do if she is pregnant. I am recently oout of grad school, up to my ears in debt from all the loans and just started my first post college job in Sept. I come froma regular middle class family, she comes from an extremely wealthy but VERY CATHOLIC family. As I said, I don't know if she is pregnant, she might not be. But how do I deal with both families if she is pregnant??

Why didn't you think about this BEFORE you had sex! Anyhow, one day late is nothing. There are pregnancy tests you can buy over the counter that can detect pregancy this early on. Have her take a test. If she is pregnant, I think you know your choices.... if you both choose to continue the pregnancy then you just have to tell your families, they'll find out anyhow.

I had my first child when I was 18. My boyfriend and I had been dating for over a year, so his family knew me well and mine knew him well. It was unexpected, of course, and I had been on the pill for 8 months prior to becoming pregnant. It is much more fun to conceive when it's "planned", but really and truly, I must tell you that if your girlfriend is in fact carrying your child, 5 years from now, even 1 year from now...you won't be able to imagine life any other way! My husband's family is "very catholic" too, and they accepted me and our child way more easily than I ever expected! If you love your girlfriend and she loves you than money, parents, and all the reasons "not to have a baby" won't make a bit of difference once you've had the baby. It sounds so corny, I'm sure but babies are really a gift from God, even if you're not married before conception...you're forgiven, don't worry about that! Support your girlfriend and her family will love you for it!

well 1st of all she is only a day late so take it easy.2nd you have to wait at least a few days to a week to take a pregnancy test and then you will go from there.If you 2 are totally committed then you get married and tell your family.I know Financially you are strapped but you will figure out how to pay the bills and have a Baby.Good Luck

Most oral contraceptives are 99.9% effective as long as they are taken correctly. She is only a day late, don't stress over it, but I would recommend taking a first response hpt, first thing tomorrow morning, because if she is pregnant she needs to stop taking the birth control and call a physician.

First of all figure out what your gonna do if she is in fact pregnant. Go and buy a home pregnancy test to find out. If she is figure out what it is you both want. Do you want a baby? If not there are millions of people out there waiting to adopt. Once you figure out what your gonna do then you can tell your parents what happend and what your plans are for it.

If she is a day late then she can take a test now. Try to not freak until after you know for sure.
If she is then you need to sit down together and plan this out! It can work! Good Luck!

You guys are adults.... don't worry about the families. I'm sure that they'll get used to the idea, and welcome a grandchild. It sounds like you have been working at providing a wonderful future for your family, even if your family has come ahead of schedule.

first take a deep breath she just being a day late is not a big deal if it more then a day then start to worry have her go buy a test and take it first thing in the morning good luck

well first all you need to know for sure before you freak out and if she takes her birth control on time you should be ok sometimes your period is late a couple of days so i wouldnt worry to much wait a few more days!!!! im sure you will be fine
