My son's name is Shyne Maurice. I don't know if I'm having a boy or girl, but I like Rayne Marquis for a boy or Rayne Marie for a girl. I also like Storm, Wyndi, & Mysti. See where I'm going with this?

Its a stereotype about being judged in the work world based on your name. My name is Starlett Sha'Vanna Whitley. I work for J.P. Morgan Chase Bank. I'm in the Sales & Service Dept. LOL.

Whatever happened to names like Steve, Robert, Jill, Mary and the like? Come on, I have seen the oddest names in my life.
What are people trying to prove when they come up with such "unique" names and spellings? Does anyone consider the future of these children?
***
IT IS NOT a stereotype that people with odd names don't get jobs. I used to work in HR and would pass many qualified people to recruiters only to be told NO after they read the name.
When asked why, it was almost always said "Because the name doesn't sound professional" or the end client would come back and say they don't like a person because of the name.
Now, if you want to give your child a name with an unusual spelling or an "ethnic" name, that is fine with me - I am no longer in HR and do not have to lie to people - but do not be suprised when they can't get into a good job.
You, in my experience, are the exception rather than the rule.

I won't impose my naming standards on you, and instead, I'll base my choice on the names you have listed.
If you have a girl, Rayne Marie goes well with your son's name.
If you have a boy, I think Rayne might be "too feminine". Try River.
I would prefer Rayne to be spelled the normal way, but I see why you have spelled it the way that you did.
Have a healthy, happy baby. Good luck.

You'll no doubt find more takers on this question in the Parenting and Pregnancy section...there's a heading just for baby names.
I like the nature theme, but prefer the real spellings. how about Zephyr? it's poetic and has a nice sound, and means a gentle, mild wind, or the west wind.

Rayne for a girl is really pretty. I'm not entirely sure if it suits a boy but I'm warming to it.
No offence, but I really don't like the others. You hit a winner with Rayne, you should go with it. ;)

Do the kid a favor and don't name it Wyndi. That just reminds me of that grocery store 'Wyn-Dixie'.
