He has had an amazing career! I'm sure he'll still be around to mentor. You can't be around the game as long as he has and not drop in every once in a while. ;)

Not really! Although he is a great coach & will forever be one of the greatest coaches the NFL has ever had, I just felt that he didn't have it in him anymore to continue being a coach for a team that had too many distractions including a controversial Wide Receiver in T.O. & a change in Quarterbacks during the season, benching Drew Bledsole & bringing on Tony Romo. The man has been a coach for 19 years & I didn't think he should go on if he wasn't up to it anymore & that's been such a real burden in his part to rebuild & reshape the team into a potential winner. It's too bad now that he's retired, but the Cowboys are now in a better place for the next coach to take over.

he is a mediocre coach at best. Romo does not need parcells, parcells needed romo. Romo is gonna have a break out season for 2007-2008 as long as they get a better offensive coordinator.
hopefully someone does something about the shitty coverage the dallas D is throwing down the field in long passing situations. they cant stop the long ball to save their own lives.
nice to see im not the only Romo fan!

Whenever a guy like Parcells retires it's bittersweet for me. I liked the guy and I wish him all the best in retirement. The one thing to keep in mind though, Bill has retired several times. Don't dismiss the idea that he may indeed return again.
As for Romo, he'll be fine. Dallas needs to get a head coach that can build things around Romo's abilities and everything will work out.

Yes I am saddened.
Parcells might just be one of the top three or four coaches in Pro ball ever. Why? Because he kept it in perspective, no player is bigger than the team or the game. He held his superstars to higher standards. He apologized to the fans in NY for putting a pathetic team on the field one game. He recognized that the working man (fans) pay top dollar to see PRO's play and that the players should show it by earning all the money they make. He was the working mans coach.

That's new to me. I'm kinda glad tho, he's been around a long time, and I hope he enjoys his retirement. He seems like a good man. I don't know much about Romo tho, sorry.

I'm just glad for him. He's had a few serious health issues, and the strain of coaching an NFL team has to have caused a lot of stress over the years. So, good for him.

The only people that are sad are the restaurant owners in Big D. I am sure The Big Tuna's departure will put a serious strain on the food industry.

I wouldn't say sad, but I'm not from Dallas.
I do think he really should have stuck around for at least one more season. Great coach, great man.
