If you are female and between the ages of 19-50, the recommended daily allowance is 1.3 mg. You can read more about vitamin B6 including sources here

Well, I suggest you do some research, since your needs may be different than someone else answering this question. (Diuretics and cortisone block the absorption of the vitamin by the body; antidepressants, estrogen therapy, and oral contraceptives increase the need for B6)
It should be noted that research has shown that high levels of isolated B vitamins have been shown to cause a depletion of other B vitamins. Also, prolonged use of high doses of vitamin B6 (over 1,000 milligrams per day) can be toxic, and can result in nerve damage and loss of coordination.

Without more information about your circumstances, I would suggest that you start with a good multivitamin. There are also a lot of natural food sources (which are usually assimilated better than supplements). Check out this book: "Prescription for Nutritional Healing, Fourth Edition" by Phyllis A. Bach. I am attaching a link to the Amazon page for this book, so that you can see some of the book. Also, your public library may have this book available.

If your doctor tells you to take it, take however much he/she says. Otherwise, don't take any. Find a multivitamin appropriate for your age/lifestyle and just take that. Eat healthy and get enough exercize.
