Richardson is Governor of New Mexico, USA. He was responsible for successful negotiations with North Koreans and has worked behind the scenes resolving a number of foreign policy decisions, all while running one of the biggest states in the union.

I'm ecstatic. I was very excited when Richardson announced his candidacy. Here is finally a candidate whom I can feel enthusiastic about. I've been watching Richardson for a long time. He's articulate, intelligent, did (and is still doing) great things for New Mexico, and has (as you mention) extensive foreign policy experience.

I have two concerns though: 1) He's barely registering in the polls. (Then again, people don't know him yet.) 2) He's Latino, which, of course, doesn't matter to me one way or the other. But I fear this racially intolerant nation is going to reject him based solely on that fact.

Out of all the candidates, Richardson is clearly the most qualified. I wish him all the best and will support him any way I know how.

He sounds like a good choice. But he has to get past Hillary & Obama. He actually was a governor, Hillary watched a president (maybe not close enough), Obama is a new guy. So I think he is arguably more qualified. But he has to get up to 4th pretty quick, and hope for some good luck.

I like Bill Richardson a lot. Even though he has incredible experience he does not have great name recognition compared to the others at least right now. He is a possible strong VP candidate.

I lived in NM for some time and have followed what he has to say and what he has done..I feel he is the best one of the party yet..he knows what he is doing and how to go about it..I would feel very safe and positive for the county if he would be president, I hope he can do it...

He might qualify himself for the vice presidential spot if he can garner some support. I think it would be really extraordinary (and very interesting) if he actually got the dem nomination against the juggernauts he is competing with.

If he plans on running the country the same way he has N.M. were in trouble. This states economy sucks. All he does is move taxes around and of course raise them. There is no job market plus any you can find are minimum wage. Come on he put a daily bed tax on nursing homes as if they don't cost enough already. He doesn't care about N.M. He's to busy trying to make a name for himself in Korea and other countries. Do you think he is going to change if we were stupid enough to put him in office as President?

Actually, NM is one of the least populous states.

I like him. Has a great record, great policies, and seems like a really nice guy.

He seems pretty good. Some people think he might become secretary of state in a Clinton administration.
