It mean's Godsend & Great Strength - (thanks Kanatani!) But is that true or just want some artist made up??? Is that a Chinese symbol(s) or Kanji??? Is it real?

Eh, please don't get Chinese symbols unless the language or culture has significant meaning to you. Otherwise it just looks silly. Get something with meaning hun. There are plenty of religious symbols that aren't Chinese. You could get a crucifix or a bible passage. As for the pain, I've had a thigh tattoo, and I've got to say it really wasn't bad. My nipple piercing actually hurt more, if only for a much shorter time. But keep in mind that it's different for everyone.

It is a peice of the dna strand with four traits highlighted. The theory is that the heroes are all mutants. To me it also looks like a clef symbol from music. I think these people are all connected on some frequency level.

The one that looks like and S with lines coming out looks like RNA.
It also looks like half of a double helix
