It depends on the type of fax machine. It should have a picture/symbol type thing on it to tell you. Look at the try where you put the paper in, and see if you see a symbol like that.

Depends on the FAX machine. Most have a little diagram that tells you which way it reads. The most common is face down.

It should tell you this on the fax device, it will have a guide to which way the writing faces as on icon on the tray

there should be a small picture on the fax machine that shows a little piece of paper with a folded edge...it will look like there's text on one side the the little symbol...

Depends. Try one way or the other, and see what side it comes out on. Find out how the paper moves through the machine, and using a little thinking, determine what you have to do. But technically, it shouldn't matter, unless you are reusing paper.
