What all can you do for heartburn I know I can take tums and stuff but lastnight I got such bad heartburn like I do every night. So I ate a few tums and went to bed. It almost instantly came back. So I ate a few more. This has been going on since then. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I know I don't have much longer but is there anything I can do at this point to make it just go away. I hardly slept lastnight and I'm hungry and when I eat it just makes it worse.

Buy some Zantac or Gaviscon. Tums is very weak when it comes to treating heartburn.

i had this problem when i was pregnant and i was popping the tums like there was no tomorrow. Nothing seemed to work though, i basically just suffered. Sleeping with your head elevated helps a bit but it is not very comfortable, does everything you eat do this? Maybe try eating really bland things, my mom suggested drinking a glass of water with a teaspoon of baking soda in it, but it just made me burp like crazy, it helped a little bit though. Good Luck, this stage of pregnancy sucks, at least i thought it did.

Certain spicey or acidic foods can give you heart burn. I'm in the same boat as you 38 weeks pregnant and have heart burn at this very moment. Tums are my best friend. Try drinking milk with meals instead of soda, if you drink soda. talk to your doctor maybe you can get a prescription.

Heartburn is caused by your body's ph being too high. If you wish to take medicine, try taking Prilosec OTC or get a prescription from you doctor. If you want to go a more natural way, then reduce acidic foods from your diet (such as orange juice) and foods that are spicy. Taking a coral calcium supplement will greatly help to balance your body's ph and help correct your heartburn; it helped me. Look for Robert Barefoot on the coral calcium; he pioneered coral calcium and has the highest quality product.

Smaller meals more often, don't eat anything for 3 hours before bed, prop something under the mattress to elevate your head (cinder blocks under feet of bed), and tums.

Tums are you friends. Stick in there it's almost over and you will have a new little baby with a bunch of hair I bet.

I had a lot of heartburn with my baby as well. I also agree with drinking milk. Sometimes it takes a lot of milk, but it always feels good going down too... very soothing, works great!
