How do you travel, and how do you feel this affects your day?
I ask as I have two jobs, one runs 8:45-4:30, but is nearly an hours drive each way, I look forward to thursdays as an easy day, although I work 8:30- 5:30, it's a 20min walk away!

I can drive to work in twenty minutes when traffic is good. When I was in college, it took me an hour to drive over the mountains to get to class on time and it took a bit longer to get back home because traffic was really heavy past noon. I was often on the road longer than I was in class on some days, but you have to do what you have to do to get where you want to go in life.

My commute to work is much shorter now than my commute to school was some years ago, but my hours at work are much longer than my hours at school were per day. I can get to work at 6:45 AM and not get back home sometimes till 9:45 PM. In those hours I can get lots done and I can avoid having to put up with my mother-in-law all at the same time. Wow, what a boon!

The other advantages of traveling a long distance is that I get to see the sun come up earlier and earlier as spring approaches, and since I usually get to work without having makeup on, on the shorter days of the season where the sun takes longer to light the sky, I can drive along in traffic and nodoby can see my unmade face.

Also, in spring and fall I enjoy seeing the seasons change. I really loved seeing the seasons change when I used to drive through the mountains when I was a student. It was almost like driving through a picture page or a colorful jigsaw puzzle of autumn leaves with old barns and wornout fences dotting the landscape.

Of course, like you, I looked forward to those days where travel was not such a hassle. I guess walking to work is fine too, but rather than walk for twenty minutes, I would rather turn the twenty minute walk into a five minute drive and avoid the cold, snow, and rain, not to mention the unwanted attention you might get from strange people along the way and the fear of being attacked by barking dogs.

I drive an hour each way down single lane, windy roads and I have no public transport option. It drives me nuts so I am looking to change jobs. To be honest, my biggest problem with it is the environmental impact of driving 10 hours a week when if I worked closer to home I could get the bus.

I'm lucky enough that work is just a five minute drive away down the road from where I live. This means on good days I can enjoy a walk to work and get a good load of fresh air and exercise.

it all depends on what day it is. If I don't have school it takes me 7 minutes to get from home to work and same for the return trip. But it takes me 30 minutes to get from school to work (up to an hour and a half in rush hour). Good thing i love to drive!

I drive as it makes it easier for me! I work in a petrol station which is 20 mins away by car, as an administrator which is 5-10 mins by car away and as a volunteer 30 mins away (45 in rush hour).

It's a mad rush and can be a bit tiring going from one to the other but you get used to it! :-)

If transport is working fine it takes me 45 mins to an hour to get to work. If it isn't it has taken me much longer, such as a couple of hours. On 7/7 I walked home and it took me 4 hours.

My new year resolution was to walk to work every day instead of catching the bus. I've found it only takes 20 minutes and don't know why I didn't do it before !
I don't envy you having an hour's drive each way

car- 90 minutes
3 aircraft- 2 hours, 7 and a half hours, 1 hour.
1 helicopter- 14 minutes.
Total journey usually takes 23 hours

I only do this once every 28 days though, so its not too bad.

It truthfully relies upon on the variety of question. some that are tediously demanding or trite, OR hateful rants OR whilst each and every be conscious is misspelled (lyke omg so mi bff and me an my BF have been lyke all goin out an idk lyke omg .....) you already know, those variety LOL. I bypass those. yet i do no longer ideas reading by an extremely long Q whether that's good or exciting. a number of the Q's i answer anymore are no longer long although. yet short, humorous, and to the element. xD ?
