Does a car with 35 years on the clock have any particular problems? Yes, old age and high mileage would be two.
Here are a couple of things I know. The slant sixes were prone to cold weather woes caused by the automatic choke stove and the distributor being mounted where water often would spray on it. The V8's were a better design, but not that many were made.

Everything from the early 70's has a problem with rust. If you have a rust-free Dart, you have a great thing. If you have the slant 6 engine, that's even better. They will run forever, and get fairly good gas mileage for the day.
Other than the possibility of rust, you've got a great car!

Specifically the cross member for the torsion bars. If the car came from a RUST state, you may have troubles. Get it up where you can give it a good look over. Also, depending on the engine, you may end up with a "clone". Check the VIN and call a Dodge dealer. Ask to talk to the head tech, or better yet, go to the dealership and find the tech yourself. If you call he may be too busy to talk to you.

Not sure if earlier than 74 would have these problems ....... but my 74 and 75 both had problems with the brain thing ........ and .... there was a ceramic piece on the firewall that used to go bad. I believe many of these MOPARs would have loose front ends or steering too ...... the stuff would wear out.
Many people say the Slant 6 was one of the best motors ..... I know I got good gas milage with mine but ...... the 318 I had got alot more power and lasted longer.

Just keep the carburator clean, and the starter and alternator can get a bit tempermental at times. (My dad has a 74 Dodge ) If it dose not want to start or sputters bad- its likely the starter, (if you know the battery is good) and if it dose not want to take the gas, check the carburator becasue it can get clogged, especailly if you run low (or out ) of gas

Aside from rust I can't think of anything. My '69 Dart lasted longer than anyone expected.
Take care of it and it'll take care of you.

timing belt slips on slant 6's, and number three piston will sometimes fail with over 130000 miles all in all pretty decent cars
