I've been given some osbcure research to do, and have only been given tidbits of information:

I need to identify a 1930's film director or cinematographer whose name was (or is close to) "Masteus". That maybe his first or last name (perhaps a letter or two missing). He was a European filmmaker; I've seen a picture of him, though most men in the 30's would have looked this way. He was short and a bit robust, thinning hair, pants high waisted, and wore huge round glasses. I know this seems strange, but any help would be great.

I looked through this list (http://imdb.com/find?q=masteus;more=nm) and couldn't find anything really to match. I searched by anyone in the 1930s and 1940s. Good luck!
