There are many agencies out there who could help you. The Salvation Army, The United Way, the US government welfare program, etc. If you asked me, I would send you to them. They are in the business of helping people.
One time I asked someone on the street who had one of those signs which read, "Please help. God bless" why he was begging and he said he made over $10,000.00/year tax free and it was easier than working. When I asked about going to a shelter or an agency to get help, he said that they kicked him out because he didn't want to follow their rules, like no alcohol, no smoking, have a listed address, etc. I never give to anyone that way now.
If you were someone I already knew, my answer might be different, depending upon your circumstances.

it depends on the kind of help you are asking for, if you are asking for a straight out hand out, then probably not. but ifyou need helpin figureing out how to manage your bills. then maybe.

No. Can't trust anybody now-a-days. They could be lying about what they need it for.
