Too many people forget that back in the late 80s/early 90s, ESPN actually did televise wrestling. That was before Vince McMahon gave us the concept of "Sports Entertainment". So, I can't really say that I'm PO'd that ESPN didn't cover it.

Not only that, but TNA is still not completely recognized as a big promotion. Who knows? In time, maybe what happens there will be considered as big as other sports. Only time will tell....

No and I would not expect ESPN to report such an event. ESPN is for actual sports. Football, basketball, baseball, etc. Wrestling is sports entertainment. Not a real sport but an exaggeration of one. ESPN has never covered "Pro Wrestling" and probably never will.

ESPN does not report on Pro Wrestling because it is PREDETERMINED making it not a sport. The entertainers are very tallented and are in top notch shape and put their bodies on the line on a regular basis but it is still not a sport since the outcome is predetermined.

On the contrary wheeljack, ESPN has coverd WCW before back when it was hogan and rodman vs. malone and whoever his partner was, but no I dont think they should cover it. It's alot better then women sports though ( besides tennis) no matter how set up it is.

If they don't report on real sports like UFC or Pride, they aren't going to report on Sports Entertainment.
