My husband has started snoring like a dinasour since the past few weeks. He refuses to see the doctor and the nasal strip does not help at all.
The snore is not from the nose but more from the throat thats the reason the nasal strip is of no use.
Hot steam also has not help at all.
Can anyone please suggest some remedy that would help as we are now forced to sleep in seperate bedrooms and I really feel terrible about it but at the same time I cannot take it anymore.
Can someone please help......!
Thanks.

My friend had really, really bad snoring that I refused to go on trips with him. I wore double ear plugs and I still couldn't sleep. It turned out he had sleep apnea and got one of those breathing machines that opened his airways. What an amazing difference. Us guys laugh at him when he brings his "hoover" machine along on trips, but we wouldn't go on those trips if that machine wasn't packed, lol And my friend loves it, because he sleeps better and has more energy in the day.

My wife complained I snored, for years. Eventually, I discovered that I was waking myself up with my own snoring. I was actually stopping breathing. Snoring is a real medical condition and it can often be cured using CPAP. This is a medical breathing apparatus that forces air into you at night and keeps your nasal passages and throat open so you don't snore. Once I started using CPAP I slept like a baby. I never realized how badly I slept until I started on CPAP. My wife loves it. My snoring has been replaced by the ocean-like swishing of the machine. Highly recommended

i know just what you are talking about. They have this pill he can take from the pharmacist. I don't remember the name but my husband went to our local drugstore and purchased it. It did not work for my husband but maybe for yours. The only thing that seems to work are ear plugs. No seriously the wax ear plugs are terrific. I can sleep well at night and together. (smile) Now we have a new edition to our snoring family and that's my one year old daughter. She inherited it from her dad. LOL. So my ear plugs are sacred, Try them they are not exspensive and it feels good to get a good nights rest. You can by them at your locaal drug store or the supermarket. If you flew in the past those earplugs work just as well. Also try home depot for the real good ones. Also a hardware store. Wish you well and a good night rest. (smile).

If he won't accept medical intervention, you're stuck. The important thing is to listen to him to see whether there is sleep apnea: whether he actually stops breathing from time to time while asleep. If this is the case, medical treatment is important, as sleep apnea can lead to a whole host of problems. One medical aternative is surgery, which is unpleasant but can cure the problem -- and ease the snoring, as well.

There are various reason for snoring. Could be sinus trouble, allergies, high blood pressure or just for laying on back. If laying on back, jaw will unhinge and we all will snore, some worse than others.
If high blood pressure is the cause, it could result in a stroke. Since you say its worse now, he should see a Dr. to make sure he wont get in trouble.
